Description
Penicillin G potassium is a white crystalline powder, odorless or slightly specific odor, moisture absorption. Soluble in water,
physiological saline, glucose solution. Suitable for infections caused by sensitive bacteria, such as abscesses, bacteremia, pneumonia and endocarditis.
Function
The product of h. influenzae and pertussis thibaut also has certain antibacterial activity, other gram-negative aerobic and facultative anaerobic bacteria to this poor sensitivity. The product of clostridium, streptococcus, anaerobic bacteria and produce melanin bacteroides good antibacterial effect, the antibacterial effect of bacteroides fragilis.
Penicillin has a bactericidal effect by inhibiting the binding of bacterial cell wall tetrapeptide chain and pentapeptide cross - bridge and impeding cell wall synthesis. It is effective for gram-positive bacteria, but penicillin has little effect on gram-negative bacteria due to the lack of pentapeptide cross-linking bridge.
Application

It has good antibacterial effect on Streptococcus such as Hemolytic Streptococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococcus without penicillinase. It has moderate antibacterial effect on Enterococcus. Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Bacillus anthracis, Actinomyces bovis, Streptobacter candida, Listeria, Leptospira and Treponema pallidum are susceptible to this product. This product also has certain antibacterial activity against Haemophilus influenzae and Bordetella pertussis, and other gram-negative aerobic or facultative anaerobic bacteria are less sensitive to this product. This product has good antibacterial effect on Clostridium spp., Peptostreptococcus anaerobic bacteria and Bacteroides melanogenum, but has poor antibacterial effect on Bacteroides fragilis. Penicillin exerts its bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.
