Description
Berberine, also known as berberine, is a quaternary ammonium alkaloid isolated from the traditional Chinese medicine Coptis chinensis. It is the main active antibacterial ingredient of Coptis chinensis.
Berberine is a natural product with the chemical name dye berberine. It is a yellow crystalline solid, soluble in acid, alkali and ethanol, but insoluble in water.
Function
1. Antibacterial
Berberine hydrochloride has a long history of antibacterial medicinal use and is mainly used clinically for the treatment of gastrointestinal inflammation, intestinal parasitic infections, bacterial diarrhea, trachoma, and other diseases.
